Indiana State School Music Association

Over 200,000 music students get the message that ‘winners drink milk’ throughout the year thanks to Indiana dairy farmers’ sponsorship of Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) events. The sponsorship is coordinated by Milk Promotion Services of Indiana. ISSMA holds the finest marching band contest in the nation according to the judges from all across the country who were in Indianapolis for the recent Marching Band State Finals.

The 38th annual ISSMA Marching Band season steps off with District Festivals on October 3rd at seven Indiana sites. The Indiana Dairy Farmers, corporate sponsor for the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA), fund, support and promote music education activities throughout Indiana. 200,000 students participate in music events under the leadership of the ISSMA. The State Marching Band Competition involves more than 16,000 of these students from 174 high schools.

2010 ISSMA State Show Choir Championships

Approximately 200,000 students will participate in music events in 2010 under the leadership of the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA). The American Dairy Association of Indiana, Inc. (ADAI) is the corporate sponsor of all ISSMA events.

ISSMA Competition from the Sidelines

Halloween 2009 was not only a day for trick or treating, it was also a day to watch some of the most talented high school music students in Indiana vie for the state marching band championships at Lucas Oil Stadium. Ten bands in each of 4 classes competed on a number of occasions during October to reach the finals. The American Dairy Association of Indiana and the dairy farm families of Indiana have been the corporate sponsor of the Indiana State School Music Association and the state marching band competition for 18 years.
